Over the past few weeks my car has been undergoing some repairs following a small crash during this time the insurance company gave me a hire car, a like for like equivalent so they said so I was somewhat amused and perplexed when a Ford focus turned up (I can not see how this is an equivalent car to my little Suzuki alto).

I have however grumbled somewhat about it even though it is more opulent, faster and specious that my own longing for the return of my little car.

Is this some strange sort of attachment?

It got me pondering this point of attachment and how easy it is, job, house, friends even to the type of car we prefer to drive.

What was nice was that the small Welsh valley devotees decided to get together over the weekend, Krishna was merciful that a few of us managed to get through, as there is only one access road and this was closed due to a serious accident (A disused railway line that is now paved for cycle use was opened to small vehicles).

The class was given by Yugala Dasa on this point of attachment and as it was such a small group thoughts on this subject was shared an amazing insight and a lovely class, we also then talked about our host’s children and how each one had a lovely devotee name some and actually how important this is as we too identify and become attached to our name and that of those who are most important to us.

And me I finally realised why I was so attached to my car, the little pictures of Radha, Krishna my USB mp3 player that serves so nicely playing lovely devotee music, other wise it’s just simply a car needed for work.
