This is the most confidential part of the Vedic scriptures, O sinless one, and it is disclosed now by Me. Whoever understands this will become wise, and his endeavours will know perfection.
PURPORT
The Lord clearly explains here that this is the substance of all revealed scriptures. And one should understand this as it is given by the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Thus one will become intelligent and perfect in transcendental knowledge. In other words, by understanding this philosophy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and engaging in His transcendental service, everyone can become freed from all contaminations of the modes of material nature. Devotional service is a process of spiritual understanding. Wherever devotional service exists, the material contamination cannot coexist. Devotional service to the Lord and the Lord Himself are one and the same because they are spiritual; devotional service takes place within the internal energy of the Supreme Lord. The Lord is said to be the sun, and ignorance is called darkness. Where the sun is present, there is no question of darkness. Therefore, whenever devotional service is present under the proper guidance of a bona fide spiritual master, there is no question of ignorance.

Over the past few months I have been receiving a steady stream of forwarded e-mails regarding the proposal being put forward to the GBC and that I have written about here on my blog.
However what was hoped would be taken up as some form of service has not transpired; yes some interest has been generated in helping in this endeavour but for monetary remuneration of some form or another.
It got me wondering about the endeavour by the devotees in the early days of ISKCON many with skills that proved invaluable to making it such a success, for no monitory remuneration and what could be described in many instances as an ouster way of life with long unrelenting working hours.
This was done through pure love of Srila Prabhupada and a basic understanding about the value of devotional service to make the whole world Krishna conscious. These highly skilled devotees helped produce the books, artwork, develop and run temples and centres a skill that could have earn them a good living in the commercial sector.
My thoughts I turned to thinking if ISKCON had to restart from scratch if this could ever be achieved as it appears to me that it is accepted that their has to be some form of monetary remuneration.
There was a problem at one stage were devotees were leaving ISKCON and taking the temple money with them Srila Prabhupada was once asked if the devotees should take up some form of legal action against them; the reply was simple “NO they’ve simply been paid” he explained that they simple entered a business relationship with Krishna I will do this if you pay me so Krishna has reciprocated there is NO GAIN this is not devotional service then explained to some extent what pure devotional service is.
OK so it’s not for me to judge I do not know the individual’s motivation their desire or understanding of service to Krishna and we know that the 60’s was a special time; the devotees showed us in a practical way what devotional service is, although if we looked we could find faults they were very special souls, selfless and focused on service to their Guru Maharaja no matter what conditions they found themselves in an example and lesson I feel over time has been lost.
